Firm agrees to represent Client in obtaining a judgment of absolute divorce in North Carolina. Client has represented to Firm that Client’s divorce will be uncontested which means that Client does not believe that his/her spouse will contest the date of separation and/ or raise counterclaims for equitable distribution, spousal support, child custody or child support. Client understands that he/she has not hired Firm to defend or otherwise represent Client with regard to any counterclaims raised by his/her spouse. Client agrees to pay Firm a flat-fee of $995.00 to represent Client in obtaining a judgment of absolute divorce. Client understands that this fee is earned upon receipt and is nonrefundable. Firm agrees to pay all filing fees associated with this matter. Firm agrees to pay all U.S. postage costs associated with this matter. Firm agrees to pay for service of process if service can be effectuated via U.S. Postal Service certified mail. Client understands that if service by sheriff, by private process server or by publication is required, Client shall be responsible for all costs associated with such service.
